Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell began as a radio and TV reporter in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP), situated in Washington DC. Two years later she became a general correspondent at NBC News in Washington. In 1981 began reporting on the White House and became chief Congress correspondent in 1988. She was named the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief of the Foreign Affairs department at NBC News. Mitchell has been as a guest on TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist as well as host. Mitchell joined the panel during 1988's presidential debates that pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awarded Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was a reporter at The White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. She covered a myriad of noteworthy stories including guns control, tax reform for the budget and the Iran-contra scandal and traveled extensively along with the president Reagan for summits with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world heads.
